Logotherapy illuminates the art of living. Dr Teria Shantall

LOGOTHERAPY was developed by its founder, Dr Viktor Frankl, a Holocaust survivor who detailed his concentration camp survival experiences in the most famous of his books, Man’s Search for Meaning.

Logotherapy is a value-based and meaning-directed philosophy which calls the client to experience, embrace and realise their unique personal destiny and calling – a way of life which illuminates purpose and direction.

I am an internationally accredited Logotherapy Practitioner who trained through UNISA and the Viktor Frankl Institute of South Africa (VFISA) under world-renowned Dr Teria Shantall, herself a student of Frankl’s.

My field of ongoing research, development and application of Logotherapy is known as LOGOTHEATRE, a term I coined during my studies and which refers to the synergies between the philosophies, principles and techniques of Logotherapy and Acting / Theatre and the potential for each to enhance the other’s processes and outcomes.

Developed from experience garnered over a forty-two year career as a Theatre Director and Acting Coach, my coaching for living approach embraces the freeing and development of each client’s unique imagination and creative potential for the enhancement of the quest to discover their individual meaning and purpose in life. Sessions are conducted in person or online.

I also assist Logotherapists to deepen their clients’ journeys through ever-evolving creative and stimulating methods, as well as the development of the therapist’s own vocal, emotional, observational, improvisational and interpretive skills.
